My Ether Wallet (MEW)

Hey there! Let’s get you through setting up your very own My Ether Wallet (MEW). Creating an ‘ether wallet’ is one of the first things you should do when you decide to invest in crypto coins / blockchain projects. You can compare it a bit with a portfolio in which you can keep track of all your coins. From there you can transfer your coins to another wallet (via a payment transfer for example) or you can send your coins to the various crypto currency exchanges to get started as a trader.

There are several ether wallets out there, but the My Ether Wallet (MEW) is our absolute favorite. Creating a new MEW is not really difficult, but we know that people who are relatively new in the crypto world do not know how to do this. That is why this article is fully focused on opening an new online MEW.

1. Go to the website www.myetherwallet.com

2. When you first visit the website, you will have to go through a short online manual. Read these at your convenience, it’s quite straightforward:

3. Once you have gone through the manual, you reach the page “Create New Wallet”. From there, enter a password and click the “Create New Wallet” button.

4. You will now be assigned a “Keystore File”. Click the button “Download keystore file”

5. Save the Keystore File and make a back-up. Make sure you do not lose this (if necessary also print it) and do not pass it on to any third parties.

6. Once you have saved the Keystore File, click on the “I understand. Continue” button.

7. In the next phase you will be assigned a personal “private key”. Never lose it and do not share it with third parties. This will be the key to your millions soon. What WijCryptonairs recommends is to definitely to not save them anywhere online. Write the key about 4 times on paper. This way you are sure that you have not written down any errors. If necessary, write it down on two or three papers that you keep in different places. Again, do not lose your “private key” and do not share with third parties! This is crucial.

8. Now you have created a MEW and you will reach the login page. You click on the bullet “private key” because you want to log in with your private key. Enter your PK in the provided box and click on the button “Unlock”.

9. You are now logged in to your wallet. And now you also have an “Account Adress” (Public Key). This is something you can actually compare with your bank account number. For example, if you want to send Ethereum to your MEW, you have to send it to this address.

You have now created your MEW and have finished one of the very first important steps to enter the wonderful world of crypto coins.

Good luck!
